Aamir Khan plans to make Dangal tax-free 5
Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for his next release Dangal,
has said that he plans to seek a tax-free status for the film. Dangal is based
on the life of wrestler and coach Mahavir Singh Phogat for which Aamir Khan
went through an intense physical transformation.
At a promotional event on Monday, Aamir Khan revealed the
footage of his incredible transformation and answered several questions related
to the film. Apart from revealing footage of the film, Aamir also said that he
is planning to make the movie tax-free. “I believe it’s a film which has the
parameters of getting a tax exemption. So I think it falls under that category.
But that’s not for me to decide. Ultimately, it is for the state governments in
each state to decide that. But we will be applying for tax exemption and we are
going to try for it before the release. But it’s a process, it may happen or it
may not happen. I can’t predict how long it will take,” Aamir told the
reporters.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is a story of
Haryana-based wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters Geeta
Phogat and Babita Kumari to become wrestlers. Dangal stars Sakshi Tanwar, Sanya
Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Aparshakti Khurrana and is slated to release
